One event, 130 guests and $3,000 in toys and gifts purchased for
donation to CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish

TORONTO – TransCore Link Logistics [TransCore], leading provider of technology solutions for Canada’s trucking industry, dropped off $3,000 worth of new toys and gift cards to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish program on December 16th—in time for Christmas.

Claudia Milicevic, General Manager of TransCore Link Logistics, said, “We are big believers in giving back to the community whenever we can, and in the spirit of the holidays, donating toys for underprivileged children at Christmas has a greater impact than just simply handing over a cheque to a charity.”

That’s why the TransCore team decided to get together to purchase numerous basketballs, Lego, jewelry design sets, boogie boards, gift cards, and more, to fill two carloads of gifts and hand delivered the donations to The Wish Warehouse in Mississauga.

Now over 100 children and teens in need will have the opportunity to open a present from good ol’ Saint Nick this holiday season thanks to the hefty contributions from Trucking Human Resources Canada, TransCore Link Logistics and the Ontario Trucking Association—three organizations who are driven to elevate the trucking industry.

All funds were raised from Women with Drive Hits the Road Toronto, a Trucking HR Canada initiative that was a networking social to help raise awareness of the trucking industry’s potential to provide challenging and fulfilling careers for women. Hosted by TransCore on Nov. 26, 2019 with about 130 guests in attendance, $1,500 was raised and TransCore matched that amount to donate a grand total of $3,000 to CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.

Women with Drive Hits the Road builds on the success of Trucking HR Canada’s Women with Drive project which offers opportunities across Canada for women in trucking and logistics to network and learn together. Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking Human Resources Canada, said, “When Claudia suggested we use this opportunity to pay it forward ahead of the festive season, I did not hesitate to come on board with the idea!”

TransCore has already raised $36,000 for children’s charities across Canada through its annual golf tournament and awarded $5,000 in scholarships this year. Collectively since 1998, the company has exceeded $300,000 in charitable donations.

The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish is one of the largest distributors of toys to those in need in the Greater Toronto Area. Click here to donate.
