  • 8+ years of experience working as a DBA performing daily database operations and maintenance tasks (backup/restore, index repair, server, databases, and job monitoring, etc.).
  • A degree, college diploma, or equivalent in computer science or a related field.
  • Advanced experience administering SQL Server 2022, 2019, Azure SQL (IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS).
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server Configuration, High Availability / Disaster Recovery, and Performance Tuning.
  • Proficient knowledge of Data Security.
  • Deep understanding of SQL Server monitoring technologies.
  • Experience with SQL Server process automation.
  • Experience working with MS SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Azure SQL, and other database technologies.
  • SQL database certification would be an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills – we like to hire people who can think through problems and develop solutions quickly.
  • An individual who can multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
  • Design, set up, configure, and install database systems.
  • Work closely with Development and DevOps teams to support database administration, including performance management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup, recovery, space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure that all database environments are deployed, maintained, and managed via proactive monitoring of performance and capacity planning of RDBMS.
  • Head our transition to cloud-native solutions and management.
  • Work on our implementation of Azure Fabric.
  • Maintain backup and recovery processes, including disaster recovery performance and tuning of databases and applications.
  • Ensure data requirements are identified, designs are fully normalized, and databases comply with industry best practices and strict security requirements.
  • Participate in design sessions with application engineers and work closely with product owners who develop the business and software specifications for project objectives.
  • Manage MS-SQL Server performance and data-related issues.
  • Respond to production incidents and support requests from business users.
  • Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS packages.
  • Work closely with development teams to build custom applications both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Understand data models and business processes to develop procedures and scripts.
  • Design, develop, and support business intelligence solutions.
  • Translate business needs into data requirements.
  • Create and monitor database maintenance jobs (backups, re-indexing, etc.).
  • Support large, high-availability database systems.
  • Execute database procedures, including upgrades, recovery, and migration.
  • Document system operations, run books, and troubleshooting procedures.
